I need some advice because I haven’t had a car for 3 weeks and the insurance is not sending the check?

March 29th, 2010

I totalled my car and they’re supposed to send something around 32 thousand to pay off the loan amount to the bank so I can finance a new car.

My adjustor already sent the letter of guarantee to my lienholder (credit union/bank financing my car), but now she states that they’re not replying back to her with a fax. I’ve called every day for 2 weeks finding out if they’ve faxed eachother and each time they say no there’s no fax. It even took my adjustor a week to even send the letter of guarantee in the first place, now supposedly my bank is not sending it back.

What is going on. What do I do, I haven’t driven for so long and I need to go to work otherwise I’m screwed. Are they playing games with me? I don’t see why the adjustor would do that

MAJOR ISSUE WITH CITI-FINANCIAL PLEASE HELP !!!?

March 26th, 2010

Oka here is the spill I need all the advice I can get !! In march of 2008 I called citi-financial to make a car payment I had used them to finance my car. I was told my account was paid in full. I was shocked because I didn’t know who would have paid off my account I owed 8,000.00. After calling around to family members my father-in-law said he paid off the car. I was getting ready to have my baby and It was a present to me he said. I had a mustang and he knew we needed something more sutible. A few days later my Title came, a payoff letter thanking me for my buisness, and the original loan contract I signed the day I bought my car stamped “paid in full “. I was so happy !!! Well, in July of that year I finally found a man willing to trade his trail blazer to me for my mustang. even trade. we exchanged titles went and registered our cars. case closed. So I thought !!! In November of 2008 I got a call from a collection agency saying I owed over 2,000 in past due payments. I explained the car was paid, faxed them a letter, and the contract stamped paid in full and never heard a word. The other day another comany contacted me and said I still owe the money. I said my father in law paid it. They called me a liar. I am scared to death. I have all documets showing the car was paid in full, i recieved a title, I don’t even own the car anymore !!! my father-in-law can’t find the money order reciept since it was a year later. I am worried my father in law may have lied and not paid it. Could citi-financial have made a huge mistake and sent all that on accident. If so, can anything be done at this point if they have no title, no contract, nothing !! I want to believe my father in law is telling me the truth but I don’t know what to do from here !! I need alll the advice I can get !!!

I got a car title loan, not from a bank but one of those “car title” places and couldn’t make my 1st payment.?

March 24th, 2010

It couldn’t have hit worse timing! I got a car title loan on a Wed to pay my $5,000 insurance deductible so I could take my son to the hospital and on that very Friday, lost my job. I did get a new job but I didn’t even get my 1st check until a week AFTER my 1st payment was due. This company has been awful. She called me the day after it was due and said she was coming to get the car. I asked for some more time and she just wouldn’t give it. It is a 20k car and they gave me a 7k loan on it. Personally I think they WANT the car back! Obviously they would sell it and make money off it!

Well, I finally got something worked out to pay it off on this Friday, in 3 days. The manager called me tonight and said she is going to get a court order and have the police come get it tonight! Can they really do this? She knows they will have the money on Friday. She knows I am getting the loan. I would die if the police showed up at my home.

Has anyone ever been in this situation with a car title loan company? Are there any attorneys out there? I could really use some advice. I worked really hard for this car and would hate to lose it because I came into tough times.

Oh and I don’t need anyone telling me, “you should pay your bills and you wouldn’t be dealing with this”. I do. I am not even 30 days behind. It was rough with my son getting ill and losing my job.

And, I live in Indiana if anyone knows of any special laws here!

Thanks!
